Bellwise

Questions

The basics

What is Bellwise?

Software for a Raspberry Pi that sits on the home network next to the router. It reads a brokerage account, the market and a written rulebook, and turns them into a morning brief, phone alerts, a desk screen and an order desk.

It is a tool for keeping to one's own rules. It does not tell anyone what to buy, and it gives no investment advice.

Which brokers does it work with?

Charles Schwab, through a free Schwab developer app that the account holder registers; setup walks through every field. The software is built so more brokers can follow; none is promised yet.

Does it trade on its own?

No. Orders are built as a preview on the order desk, and nothing reaches the broker until Send is pressed, behind the box's PIN, from a device on the home network.

Is the brief investment advice?

No. The brief is written by an AI model from the account, market data and the rulebook, and it can be wrong. Every decision and every order is the account holder's own. Trading carries risk, including the loss of money invested.

Hardware and setup

Which Raspberry Pi?

A Raspberry Pi 4, Pi 5 or Pi 3 Model B+, each with its own card image, downloaded with the licence key on the Already have a key? page (and right after payment). A 2 GB Pi 4 or Pi 5 is plenty, and the Pi 4 and 5 run the pages faster. The licence moves between boxes, so starting on one model and moving later is fine.

Where is the card image?

On the Already have a key? page: the licence key, the board, and Download. The page shows the file's SHA-256 to check, then the setup steps: write the card with Raspberry Pi Imager ("Use custom"), power it on, join the setup hotspot or plug in Ethernet, and activate the key on the box's Settings page. The download alone doesn't activate or move the key.

Is a screen needed?

No. Everything works from a phone or computer on the same Wi-Fi. An HDMI screen turns the box into a desk display, and setup can also run on that screen with a USB keyboard and mouse.

How long does setup take?

About an hour of hands-on time. Schwab has to approve the developer app first, which usually takes a few days; the rest of setup can be done while waiting.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The box keeps its last numbers on screen and says when they were read. It needs the internet to reach Schwab and Anthropic, and catches up on its own once the connection is back.

Costs

What does the AI cost each month?

It depends on the schedule picked in setup: about $45–60 a month for the full day, $20–30 for Standard, $12–18 for the brief only, and nothing for Alerts only. It is billed by Anthropic to the key's owner, not by 2 Buns LLC. A monthly spend limit can be set in Anthropic's console.

Is there a subscription?

No. The licence is one payment and includes 12 months of updates. After that the box keeps working on the version it has; a $39 renewal adds another year of updates, from the website or the Renew button on the box.

Licence and updates

How does the licence key work?

The key is shown right after payment and emailed. It is entered once on the box's Settings page and runs one box at a time. Moving to a new card or a new Pi means entering it again there; the old box stops getting updates.

How do updates arrive?

The box checks overnight and installs signed releases on its own; the Settings page can also check on demand. A release that fails its checks is never installed.

Privacy and safety

What does 2 Buns LLC see?

The licence key and an id made from the memory card by a one-way hash, to deliver updates. Never the Schwab login, the account numbers, the positions or the Anthropic key: those stay on the box. The privacy page has the details.

What if the memory card is lost?

The card holds the Schwab login and the keys, so it deserves the same care as a house key. If it goes missing, revoke the Schwab app and the Anthropic key from their own websites; a new card and the same licence key bring the box back.

Still stuck?

Email support@2bunsllc.com. The Updates card on the box's Settings page has a Diagnostics section with the box's recent logs, which helps support find the cause quickly.
